Shalom
Besides serving in ministry with The Fellowship, I’m also a wife to my beloved husband and mother of four amazing children. That means I do a LOT of cooking — and I love it!
Cooking and sharing meals with my family is one of the best parts of my day. And I feel so blessed that my faith teaches me that even little “chores” like making a meal can be transformed into spiritual moments that bring us closer to God.
Whether it’s the blessings we say before we eat and drink or the way we recognize that God is the one who provides for us, each moment we spend around the table is an opportunity to teach our children about Jewish traditions and the Bible.
Food is a big part of Jewish holidays too. At Rosh Hashanah — the Jewish New Year — and the beginning of the High Holy Days, which are coming up in just a few weeks, we wish each other a sweet New Year, and eat foods that symbolize that sweetness. We ask God for blessings of joy, comfort, sweetness, and peace for the New Year because there is nothing too big or too small to ask of God.
Can you guess the recipe below that represents a “sweet year?” Take a guess, and I’ll send you the recipe so you can share a “sweet New Year” with your loved ones, too! May you feel God’s love and presence in everything you do!

Since 1983, various stories of destitute Jewish people, whose names and photos may have been changed for privacy and security have been used to bless Israel and her people. Through these retellings, generous friends like you have helped feed, clothe, and shelter as well as provide medical care and heating for tens of thousands of those who struggle greatly.
