1200 Coral Way, Miami Fl 33145

The book Cuba’s intervention in Venezuela: a strategic occupation with global implications was published in English last August and has been widely acclaimed, with presentations in Washington, DC, and San Juan as well as on numerous television and radio programs.

This in-depth and comprehensive investigation describes how “revolutionary” Cuba essentially occupied Venezuela not through a large military force in-situ but asymmetrically, by placing assets strategically to command Venezuela’s security forces, economy, information, communications, and society in general. It explores the evolution of a long-held plan that led to a radical political alliance and regional integration project and the establishment of an international criminal network. Finally, it explains how the much smaller, poorer, and underdeveloped Cuba pulled this off thanks to a unique methodological tool kit arisen from the totalitarian nature of its system. The implications are far from regional. The book Is published by Cuba Archive, a non-profit organization that promotes human rights through research and publications.

The XI Festival Vista will take place in Miami on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th followed by presentations in Spanish of books, music, conversations, discussion panels and a documentary.  Since December 2014, the Vista Festival provides a space for renowned creators, activists, and analysts to exchange ideas and work on Cuba. This year, it is held solidarity with Venezuela and artists, writers, and civil society activists the State does not allow out of Cuba. See the program and www.facebook.com/FestivalVista/.
