(Independent Sentinel) - The campaign media aide to Hassan Rouhani, Iran’s president, defected this week. While making the announcement in London, he claimed that the U.S. is acting as Iran’s agent in the nuclear talks.
Amir Hossein Motaghi (photo top left) quit his job at the Iran Student Correspondents Association (ISCA) and then showed up in London to say he didn’t see any sense in his profession when he could only write what he was told.
He told Irane Farda television that they are not journalists and all news on the Iranian side of the nuclear negotiations goes through them.
It sounds like what Josh Dis-Earnest does. Maybe Josh will defect to Iran and tell them his job is meaningless because he has to say exactly what he’s told.
Mr. Mottaghi was facing possible arrest if he returned to Iran. He is a friend of Jason Rezaian, the Iranian-American reporter for the Washington Post now detained in Tehran. He campaigned for Rezaian.
Where it gets more interesting, is where Mr. Mottaghi says the U.S. is acting as an agent for Iran.
“The US negotiating team are mainly there to speak on Iran’s behalf with other members of the 5+1 countries and convince them of a deal,” he said.
If true, this appears to be a case of a U.S. president aiding and abetting the enemy.
