Former Arizona Gov Endorses Trump: ‘This May Be Our Last Chance’

Former Arizona Gov Endorses Trump: ‘This May Be Our Last Chance’

(Daily Caller) – Former Arizona Republican Governor Jan Brewer announced Saturday she’s supporting Donald Trump for president.
In a press release from the Trump campaign, Brewer said she was endorsing The Donald due to his strong stance on illegal immigration.
“[T]he politicians in Washington D.C. have continually failed to secure our border. As I’ve always said: A nation without borders is like a house without walls – it collapses,” the former governor stated.
Brewer said her time as the governor of Arizona — which she served as from 2009 to 2015 — educated her about the dangers of illegal immigration and how the federal government, in her opinion, does little to stop it. She argues Trump will take the opposite approach.
EstablishmenAdArticles
“For years I pleaded with the federal government to do their job and secure our border. Today, we can elect a President who will do just that – Donald J. Trump. Mr. Trump will secure our borders, defend our workers and protect our sovereignty. Mr. Trump will stand for our law enforcement, our police and our immigration officers. Mr. Trump will actually enforce the rule of law,” Brewer said.
She touted Trump’s status as a “Washington outsider” as a positive trait because it means, “Mr. Trump gets it. He will listen to the people and fight for the citizens of the United States.”
Brewer concluded with a dark warning about what might happen if The Donald doesn’t become America’s next president.
“This may be our last chance to ensure our children grow up in a country with borders, and with a government that protects its own people. This is our chance – Donald Trump is our chance – to save this country and Make America Great Again,” she said.
Trump said he was “honored” to have Brewer’s endorsement, according to the Saturday press statement.
Brewer is most famous for enacting SB 1070, a bill aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration within the state of Arizona. The law caused a national firestorm over accusations it encouraged racial profiling and was unconstitutional. However, polls showed that a large majority of Americans — both nationally and in Arizona itself — supported the measure.
SB 1070 solidified Brewer as a major figure in the fight over illegal immigration and as a strong opponent of Barack Obama’s policies. She was later famously photographed pointing her finger at the president during a heated exchange between the two politicians.
Earlier in February, The New York Times dubbed Brewer a precursor to Trump’s brand of politics due to her actions against illegal immigration and battles with the Obama administration.
The former governor’s endorsement comes one day after two sitting Republican governors — Chris Christie of New Jersey and Paul LePage of Maine — publicly backed The Donald’s bid for the White House.

Hillary Smokes Bernie in South Carolina Primary

Hillary Smokes Bernie in South Carolina Primary

59 delegates up for grabs in Palmetto State’s ’1st in the South’ Democrat primary
(AP) – Hillary Clinton overwhelmed Bernie Sanders in Saturday’s South Carolina primary, drawing staggering support from the state’s black Democrats and seizing an increasingly strong position as the presidential race barrels toward Super Tuesday’s crucial contests.
Clinton’s lopsided win — she led by almost 50 points with about three-fourths of the vote counted — provided an important boost for her campaign and a moment to wipe away bitter memories of her loss to Barack Obama in South Carolina eight years ago. She won the support of nearly 9 in 10 black voters, crucial Democratic backers who abandoned her for Obama in 2008.
During a raucous victory rally, Clinton briefly reveled in her sweeping support from South Carolina voters, hugging backers and posing with them for selfie photos. But then she pivoted quickly to the contests to come.
HillaryPrisonFB
“Tomorrow this campaign goes national,” she said. “We are not taking anything, and we are not taking anyone, for granted.”
Sanders, expecting defeat, left the state even before voting was finished and turned his attention to states that vote in next Tuesday’s delegate-rich contests.
“In politics on a given night, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose,” Sanders said after arriving in Minnesota. “Tonight we lost.”
Clinton’s victory came at the end of a day that saw Republican candidates firing insults at each other from Super Tuesday states. Donald Trump, working to build an insurmountable lead, was campaigning in Arkansas with former rival Chris Christie and calling Marco Rubio a “light little nothing;” Ted Cruz was asking parents in Atlanta if they would be pleased if their children spouted profanities like the brash billionaire, and Rubio was mocking Trump as a “con artist” with “the worst spray tan in America.”
Clinton allies quickly touted the breadth of her victory. Besides blacks, she won most women and voters aged 25 and older, according to early exit polls.
Sanders continued to do well with young voters, his most passionate supporters. He also carried those who identified themselves as independents. All registered voters could vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary but not in both.
A self-described democratic socialist, Sanders has energized his supporters with impassioned calls for breaking up Wall Street banks and making tuition free at public colleges and universities. But the senator from Vermont, a state where about 1 percent of the population is black, lacks Clinton’s deep ties to the African-American community.
Still, he did invest heavily in South Carolina, with 200 paid staff on the ground and an aggressive television advertising campaign.
Exit polls showed 6 in 10 voters in the primary were black, by far the largest proportion in any of the contests so far. About 7 in 10 said they wanted the next president to continue Obama’s policies, and only about 20 percent wanted a more liberal course of action, according to the polls conducted by Edison Research for The Associated Press and television networks.
Clinton’s sweeping victory suggested South Carolina voters had put aside any lingering tensions from her heated 2008 contest with Obama. Former President Bill Clinton made statements during that campaign that were seen by some, including influential South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, as questioning the legitimacy of the black presidential contender.
This time around, Clyburn endorsed Clinton, and her husband was well-received as he traveled the state on her behalf. She focused on issues with particular resonance in the black community and held an emotional event with black mothers whose children died in shootings.
Clinton’s second White House bid lurched to an uneven start, with a narrow victory over Sanders in Iowa and a crushing loss to the senator in New Hampshire. She pulled off a 5-point win over Sanders in last week’s Nevada caucus, a crucial victory that helped stem Sanders’ momentum.
Clinton’s campaign hopes her strong showing in South Carolina foreshadows similar outcomes in states like Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Virginia that vote Tuesday and have large minority populations.
Taken together, 865 Democratic delegates are up for grabs in the Super Tuesday contests in 11 states and American Samoa. Sanders is hoping to stay close to Clinton in the South while focusing most of his attention on states in the Midwest and Northeast, including his home state of Vermont.
Sanders has built a massive network of small donors and has the money to stay in the race deep into the spring. Still, Clinton’s campaign sees a chance to build enough of a delegate lead to put the race out of reach during the sprint through March.
Clinton’s will pick up most of South Carolina’s delegates, widening her overall lead in AP’s count. With 53 delegates at stake, Clinton will receive at least 37, Sanders at least 12.
Going into South Carolina, Clinton had just a one-delegate edge over Sanders. However, she also has a massive lead among superdelegates, the Democratic Party leaders who can vote for the candidate of their choice at this summer’s national convention, regardless of how their states vote.

Iran Just Renewed Their Vows To Destroy The West With This Chilling Message

Iran Just Renewed Their Vows To Destroy The West With This Chilling Message

(Reuters) – Iran’s top leader warned voters on Wednesday the West was plotting to influence elections pitting centrists close to President Hassan Rouhani against conservative hardliners in a contest that could shape the Islamic Republic for years to come.
In remarks reflecting an abiding mistrust of Rouhani’s rapprochement with the West, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said he was confident Iranians would vote in favor of keeping Iran’s anti-Western stance on Friday in the first elections since last year’s nuclear accord with world powers.
Rouhani’s allies, who hope the deal will hasten Iran’s opening up to the world after years of sanctions, have come under increasing pressure in the election campaign from hardliners who accuse them of links to Western powers including the United States and Britain.
DontPlayWell
Those accusations seek to tap into Iranians’ wariness of Western motives and memories of a 1953 coup against nationalist prime minister Mohammad Mossadegh that was orchestrated by the United States and Britain and strengthened the Shah’s rule.
Rouhani on Wednesday denied accusations from hardliners that the candidates close to him were affiliated with Western powers, calling it an insult to the intelligence of Iranians.
In remarks on his official website, Khamenei was quoted as saying he was certain the United States had concocted a plot after the nuclear deal to “infiltrate” the Islamic Republic.
“When I talked about a U.S. infiltration plot, it made some people in the country frustrated,” said the Shi’ite clerical leader, who has final say on all major state policy in Iran.
“INFILTRATION”CPT UI
“They complain (about) why we talk about infiltration all the time … But this is a real plot. Sometimes even the infiltrators don’t know they are a part of it,” he said.
“One of the enemy’s ruses is to portray a false dichotomy between a pro-government and anti-government parliament,” Khamenei was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA.
“The nation does not want a pro- or anti-government parliament, but rather a strong and faithful parliament that is aware of its duties and is not intimidated by the United States,” he said.
Supporters of Rouhani, buoyed by Iran’s nuclear deal, aim to gain influence in the elections for the 290-seat parliament and the 88-member Assembly of Experts, which will choose the country’s next supreme leader.
But potential detente with the West has alarmed hardliners, who have seen a flood of European trade and investment delegations arrive in Tehran to discuss possible deals in the wake of the nuclear agreement.
Since then, hardline security officials have arrested dozens of artists, journalists and businessmen, including Iranians holding joint U.S. or British citizenship, as part of a crackdown on “Western infiltration”.
Rouhani had criticized the arrests before, saying some “play with the infiltration word” to pursue their own political goals.
Moves by hardliners to block moderate candidates and portray them as stooges of the West have soured the mood in the final days of campaigning, and Rouhani complained on Wednesday of a public discourse rife with “abuse, accusations and insults”.
Addressing political activists, former president Hashemi Rafsanjani, one of Rouhani’s most powerful allies, said Rouhani’s election in 2013 “was Iranians’ first step to bring the country back to a path of moderation”.
“I hope people take the second step in Friday’s elections,” he said.
In an apparent reference to hardliners’ accusations that moderates were under Western influence, Rafsanjani said in a statement published on ISNA news agency: “Labeling rivals, in order to turn people’s hopes into despair, has no results.”
“The Iranians … will prove that they are seeking Iran’s political independence and will say no to colonialism, extremism and tyranny.”
Opposition figure Mehdi Karoubi, under house arrest since 2009, will cast his vote in elections on Friday, his son Taghi said in a Facebook posting, a move that may provide a boost to reformist candidates close to Rouhani.
It would be the first time Karoubi has voted in an election since his arrest. His son said a mobile ballot box may be taken to his father’s house.

MILITARY PURGE: Obama Directly BETRAYS U.S. Special Forces

MILITARY PURGE: Obama Directly BETRAYS U.S. Special Forces

(Stars and Stripes) – Sean Matson, who recently left active-duty as a Navy SEAL, said the military measured his head four times – each time before deployment – with plans to provide him a more advanced ballistic helmet.
But the new helmet never materialized. During a deployment in Africa, Matson and six of his fellow SEALs each shelled out about $900 for updated helmets that held the lights, communications devices and batteries needed for their missions.
“There was never a clear solution to it, so guys were going out spending $800-$900 on their own ballistic helmet,” said Matson, who is now CEO of the military supply company Matbock.
Elite troops such as the SEALs are more and more forced to dip into their own pockets to purchase basic military gear such as helmets, global positioning devices and medical supplies, according to Matson and others involved in the military’s unofficial civilian-side supply network who came to Capitol Hill on Thursday.
SupportTheTroopsArticleAd
House lawmakers have taken notice and said they will request an explanation from Defense Secretary Ash Carter.
“These are the guys we assume have the best gear all the time,” said Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., a Marine Corps combat veteran.
Hunter said special operations troops have been approaching him in his California district complaining about the inability to get needed materials and he has been investigating the issue.
Numerous individual instances point to a systemic problem in the military’s supply chain but a blind spot exists between Defense Department vendors and the troops who need the gear and supplies, Hunter said.
“It’s been impossible for me to find out how the money is getting stopped and why it is not going down to where it’s supposed to be,” he said.
Aaron Negherbon is the executive director of the nonprofit group Troops Direct, which ships needed and requested supplies – from boot laces to tablet devices — to servicemembers who cannot get it through their commands.
Less than two days after the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya, Negherbon said he was contacted by the commander of a Marine Corps Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team that was being deployed there.
The commander told him the team lacked a variety of crucial equipment, including sniper supplies, he said.
“They came to us for…batteries because they didn’t have any of those … It is kind of like, ‘What the heck is going on?’” Negherbon said.
He said troops often have to buy their own medical equipment such as tourniquets, and shell out about $1,000 each for their own helmets or $500 for a GPS device that they need for duty during a deployment.
“The question is, why can’t you get this?” Negherbon said.
Often the answer seems to be a higher command does not have the money budgeted or the equipment was approved but not available from vendors.
“That is a good thing, we know where the problem is but [those issues] are very profound,” he said.
A small group of House Republican lawmakers gathered Thursday to hear the concerns.
Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., an Air Force combat veteran, said the military has to weigh the concerns of supplying needed equipment with the desire of troops to always have the newest gear on the market.
Still, Kinzinger said the shortfalls in the supply chain could become a major issue if deployments ramp up again to the levels seen during the height of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Rep. Chris Gibson, R-N.Y., an Army veteran, said the group should write a letter to Carter, saying they have serious concerns about supply breakdowns, including the inability of Matson and his fellow SEALs to get helmets capable of mounting lights, though the equipment was approved.
“If you’ve got a situation where unit is approved for an Ops-Core [brand ballistic] helmet and it’s not getting it, we need to understand what the problem is … that is unacceptable,” he said.

Melissa Harris Perry Quits Her MSNBC Show & Accuses The Network of Racism

Melissa Harris Perry Quits Her MSNBC Show & Accuses The Network of Racism

(Mediaite) – As reported here and elsewhere, Melissa Harris-Perry has walked off her own MSNBC program.
She should just keep on walking…
Said walk-off comes in protest around her weekend program being pre-empted a whole two weekends in a row as the network — like basically everyone else — has gone all-in on election coverage. This decision by MSNBC management was obviously far too much for the fragile ego of Ms. Harris-Perry to handle, so she decided it was a really good idea to commit TV career suicide instead.
And that’s what we’re all witnessing right now: A complete meltdown by someone who really should know better than to go down that one-way road to public access. It truly is a shame to see, because as Harris-Perry is about to learn, she really carved out quite the perfect career: Presidential Chair Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Wake Forest, columnist for The Nation and host of a two-hour national cable news show two days a week. For those scoring at home, that’s the baseball equivalent of 3-for-3.
Liberalism
But instead of privately and personally airing her grievances to MSNBC management — you know, like anyone over age 17 would in any work environment — MHP instead sent an email to her colleagues regarding her decision, which predictably ended up going public (in this case, via the New York Times). The take-a-deep-breath-and-count-to-ten-before-you-really-do-this rule was, as you’ll see, completely ignored:
“I will not be used as a tool for their purposes,” she wrote. “I am not a token, mammy, or little brown bobble head. I am not owned by Lack, Griffin or MSNBC. I love our show. I want it back.”
Get it? The pre-emptions are all about race. And by the way, not sure where the whole “token” part is coming from considering the number of African-American talent currently on the MSNBC payroll. So here’s the deal around MHP’s gripe: Her network has been pre-empting many programs over the past few weeks, including pretty much all of Dayside on weekdays. No matter, Harris-Perry seems to have no problem playing the race card here from the bottom of the deck… because that’s all she seems to know.
“This reaction is surprising, confusing and disappointing,” says a network spokesperson, adding that Joy Reid — who had her weekday program cancelled last year but was kept by the network to perform other duties, will anchor in Harris-Perry’s spot instead.
Here’s another cold fact: She is — at best — marginally talented for someone who performs on a national level. Even after four years on the job, her delivery, screen presence and interviewing style is decidedly awkward. Her judgment and analysis… oftentimes laughable. Want proof? Look no further than Harris-Perry scolding a guest for using the term “hard worker” as it pertained to House Speaker Paul Ryan last year. Why is “hard worker” so offensive? Because it pertains to slavery, of course:
HARRIS-PERRY: “I want us to be super careful when we use the language ‘hard worker.’ Because I actually keep an image of folks working in cotton fields on my office wall, because it is a reminder about what hard work looks like. In the context of relative privilege, I just want to point out, that when you talk about work-life balance and being a hard worker, the moms who don’t have health care who are working, we don’t call them hard workers. We call them failures, people who are sucking off the system.”
WTF? That. Was. Really. Said. On. A. National. Cable. News. Network. Need more? You can also read all about her greatest hits here and here, which include allowing a panel on her show to ridicule the Romney family for having the audacity to adopt an African-American baby (side note: her mother is white, her father is black). And then there was that time she decided to wear a pair of tampons as earringsto make a point about abortion law… or something.
In the end, know this: Harris-Perry is lucky to even be employed by the network — any network — at this point. The show finished fourth in the demo (out of four cable news networks) in January. And based on this very public reaction, it seems to me that she’s also unhinged at worst and blatantly dishonest at best. Here’s what she told the New York Times in an interview today after the aforementioned email to her colleagues — the one that basically characterized her bosses as slave owners — got out:
“I don’t know if there is a personal racial component,” adding, “I don’t think anyone is doing something mean to me because I’m a black person.”
If you’re MSNBC, there’s really nothing left to say… except to thank her for her time at the network and to wish her well in her future endeavors.
Today we witnessed a public meltdown of a television host who had a damn good thing going: Teaching, writing, and four hours of national cable news time per week to discuss the issues — racial, political — that matter most to her. The TV part likely goes away now. This is a bell that can’t be un-rung.
Mark it down: February 26, 2016…
The day Melissa Harris-Perry decided to permanently throw away her television career for no good reason.

MENTALLY UNSTABLE…

Biden APOLOGIZES to Mexico for Trump Comments

The most heated rhetoric you’ve heard … is not who we are as the American people’
(Telesurtv) – U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday said he felt “almost obliged” to say sorry for verbal attacks on Mexico in the U.S. presidential campaign, in which Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has labeled Mexican migrants “rapists” and drug runners, and vowed to build a wall on the border with Mexico to stop immigrants from coming into the U.S.
“There’s been a lot of damaging and incredibly inaccurate rhetoric, and I would argue, I feel almost obliged to apologize for some of what my political colleagues have said … about Mexico, about the Mexican people,” said the Democratic Party vice president.
Speaking alongside Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto during a visit to Mexico City, Biden never mentioned Trump, who nonetheless loomed large over the proceedings.
ImpeachmentFax
“I just want you to know, Mr. President, that the most heated rhetoric you’ve heard from some of the competitors for the nomination for president, is not who we are as the American people … It’s the exact opposite,” Biden added.
Without naming Trump, Pena Nieto also weighed in, saying “building walls is just isolating oneself.”
Biden was visiting the Mexican capital for economic talks accompanied by a delegation of U.S. officials who hope to scale up trade with the country.
The U.S. is Mexico’s largest trading partner, and Mexico is third for the U.S. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce. The meeting aimed to promote competitiveness and connectivity; foster economic growth, productivity, entrepreneurship, and innovation; and partner for regional and global leadership.
Biden’s Mexico visit comes a day after he also conducted meetings with leaders of Central American Northern Triangle countries, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras in Washington, D.C. to discuss a controversial multimillion-dollar security plan for the region.

Thousands Of Americans Seeking Jobs – While NY Plans To Give Teaching Jobs To Illegal Aliens

Thousands Of Americans Seeking Jobs – While NY Plans To Give Teaching Jobs To Illegal Aliens

(The Federalist Papers) – New York State is about to allow illegal immigrants to teach in their public schools.
Because they don’t want to “close the door” on the “dreams” of illegal aliens, the district plans to certify them to teach in the more than 700 school districts across the state serving 3.2 million children.
The licensing doesn’t stop with schools, though. They would also be allowed certification to become engineers, pharmacists, dentists and dozens of other professions, Fox News is reporting.
While federal law prohibits employers from hiring illegal aliens, Barack Obama’s 2012 “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” Executive Order allows illegal aliens who meet specific criteria – like being here since childhood – to stay in the United States.
Back in 2015, Obama promoted this new policy by honoring nine illegal aliens who became school teachers by calling them “Champions for Change.”
DontPlayWell
The decision doesn’t sit well with many who believe the policy violates federal law and prevents lawful citizens from getting jobs they are qualified for.
“It is bad public policy,” said Hans von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at the Washington D.C.-based Heritage Foundation, and a former U.S. Justice Department attorney. “It is a violation of federal immigration law.”
Liberals love the idea of normalizing illegal immigration.
“As for the teacher licenses, if there are individuals that do not have current legal status or a clear pathway to legal status but have the education and qualifications to teach in New York or any other state they should be approved to teach,” said Lisa Snell, director of education and child welfare at Reason Foundation, a nonprofit think tank advancing free minds and free markets.
Of course, the idea of passing over American citizens for a job in favor of an illegal alien doesn’t sit too well with everybody.
“Teaching is not a job that Americans won’t or can’t do,” said Jessica Vaughan with the Center for Immigration Studies. “Instead of enticing illegal immigrants to work in the public schools, the government of New York should be recruiting from the many talented homegrown young people to become teachers.”
Incredibly, New York wouldn’t be the first state to allow illegal aliens to become teachers. Texas and Colorado permits the practice. In Denver, they actively recruit illegal immigrants to become teachers.
