Dear Friends,
As the summer continues, tensions remain high on the Israel-Gaza border. The IDF continues to face a bombardment of incendiary kites and balloons as well as mortar and sniper fire by Palestinian terrorists.
On Friday, 21-year-old Staff Sgt. Aviv Levi was killed by sniper fire from Gaza. Levi, an infantry soldier from the Givati Brigade, was the first IDF casualty on the Gaza border since Operation Protective Edge in 2014. Levi was laid to rest on Sunday in the military cemetery of Petah Tikva, Israel.
While the entire nation was shaken by this tragedy, the IDF remains steadfast in its defense of the Land and the People of Israel.
During these difficult time, LIBI USA continues to provide Israeli soldiers with support, education, and assistance to help ease the burden of their service.
Now more than ever is the time to give to LIBI USA and to stand with the IDF.
With prayers for peace,
John A.I. Grossman Chairman, American Friends of LIBI
