ALERT: Feds Capture Iraqi Refugee In Texas Just Before He Completes His Horrifying Mission
(Conservative Tribune) – An Iraqi refugee faced charges of attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State group, procuring citizenship unlawfully and making false statements, according to testimony at a bond hearing held on Wednesday in Houston, Texas.
Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan was being held indefinitely without bond after it was discovered he was learning to make transmitters that could detonate explosive devices and also wanted to detonate bombs at two Houston malls, according to federal testimony.
Al Hardan, who arrived in Houston in 2009, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
U.S. District Judge Lynn Hughes denied bond to Al Hardan, citing the refugee was a flight risk.
Homeland Security Special Agent Herman Wittliff, testified that Al Hardan wanted to set off bombs at two Houston malls, including the Galleria mall, according to KHOU.
Al Hardan was learning how to make transmitters that could detonate improvised explosive devices. Specifically, he wanted use a collection of cellphones found in his apartment to detonate the transmitters, Wittliff testified, according to CBS.
When prosecutor Ralph Imperato asked what the transmitters were to be used for, Wittliff said, “So he could kill people.”
Prosecutors allege Al Hardan was coordinating efforts with Iraqi refugee, Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, who lives in California. The two contacted each other through Facebook messenger from April 2013 to October 2014. Their conversations included topics such as getting weapons training and ultimately sneaking into Syria to fight with the Islamic State group, Wittliff said.
Wittliff also said Al Hardan received AK-47 riffle training in November 2014 on a farm outside the Houston area from a confidential informant working with federal authorities on the matter.
Court excerpts revealed Al Hardan told his wife he wanted to blow himself up and that he was “against America.”
Liberals expect us to believe them when they say we’re safe, but Al Hardan is just another example of how the vetting system for refugees — if there even is one — does not work.
