Cruz Drops BOMBSHELL: Obama Just Became “World’s Largest Financier of Islamic Terrorism”
(Conservative Tribune) – As part of the nuclear deal between the United States and Iran, the government of Iran promised to not pursue a nuclear program in exchange for the United States lifting sanctions against Iran.
This past weekend, it was concluded by the U.S government that Iran has upheld its end of the bargain and has begun taking steps to ensure it can’t develop a nuclear weapon.
As a result of this, frozen Iranian assets were released … to the tune of $1.7 billion.
Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, a vocal critic of the deal, immediately took to Facebook and posted a link to a Tweet containing a document regarding the assets release.
Cruz captioned his post, “Disgraceful. With the a stroke of his pen, Barack Obama becomes the world’s largest financier of radical Islamic terrorism.”
The link Cruz posted was to a tweet by Jonathan Karl, the ABC News chief White House correspondent, that contained a news release announcing the release of $1.7 billion to Iran.
Karl wrote in the tweet: “This is quite a development: the US government just made a direct payment to the Iranian government of $1.7 billion.”
The statement details how Iran has $400 million in a Trust Fund that was frozen by the U.S years ago. Iran will now receive that money, plus $1.3 billion in interest.
That’s your tax dollars, ladies and gentlemen, being given to a regime that is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism.
Cruz is absolutely correct that Obama has now become the world’s largest financial sponsor of terrorism. That $1.7 billion can buy a lot of suicide vests and weapons to be used by groups like Hezbollah and Hamas.
Liberals are constantly hailing this deal as a breakthrough for diplomacy. That is a complete lie. All this deal does is give billions of dollars to a terrorist government in exchange for hollow promises that they won’t break the law.
This is a government that breaks international law every single day. Only last week the Iranians violated theGeneva Convention when they captured 10 U.S sailors. They aren’t going to fret over breaking one more treaty.
