NYC Mayor Surrenders To Sharia Law… NYPD Cops Are Now Powerless Against Radical Islam
(Conservative Tribune) – New York City law enforcement officers have been placed even more in harm’s way thanks to recent changes from liberal mayor Bill de Blasio. De Blasio has settled a case that emphasized social justice over the safety of the public and essentially made the police powerless against radical Islam.
In the case of Hamid Hassan Raza v. City of New York, Muslim activists accused de Blasio and the police department of profiling. In response, de Blasio removed a valuable intelligence gathering tool from the police department’s training strategy, according to National Review.
The counterterrorism strategy has allowed police to keep the city safe since Sept. 11, 2001. The strategy, inspired by the 2007 report “Radicalization in the West,” was put in place by then-Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, and it helped identify patterns often associated with individuals who participated in jihadist violence.
The report also helped police identify subsets of Muslims who might be “radicalizing” and interrupt their terror plots before lives were lost.
Mulsim activists claimed the report made unfair connections between Muslims and inclinations toward terrorism, even though the report was a far cry from tarnishing all Muslims.
Some Muslims have staunchly opposed post-9/11 counterterrorism measures, claiming they constitute a war against Islam and lead to unfair profiling of all Muslims.
Apparently, de Blasio agreed with the activists, and now the report cannot be relied upon to “open or extend investigations.” The report and any ensuing investigations were found to be constitutionally suspect.
A successful counterterrorism strategy that has saved countless lives has been wiped away, all in the name of tolerance and social justice.
It’s truly shameful how de Blasio caved to Muslim activists, but sadly, it’s not surprising.
