House Committee Instantly Defies Obama’s Gun Control, Issues Response Leaving Him POWERLESS

House Committee Instantly Defies Obama’s Gun Control, Issues Response Leaving Him POWERLESS

(Washington Examiner) – On the same day that President Barack Obama released a new statement on his gun control measures, the The House Appropriations Committee sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch saying that they will not provide extra funds for the “unlawful limitations on the unambiguous Second Amendment Rights of Americans.”
On Jan. 4, the White House released a four-step plan to reduce gun violence.
“(W)hile Congress has repeatedly failed to take action and pass laws that would expand background checks and reduce gun violence, today, building on the significant steps that have already been taken over the past several years, the Administration is announcing a series of common-sense executive actions,” the statement said.
But, as reported by the Washington Examiner, Congress will not be pushed around by the Obama administration.

The GOP-led committee told Lynch that they will not fund a “new law” that directly contradicts the Second Amendment to the Constitution.
“We look forward to reviewing a fiscal year 2016 spending plan and fiscal year 2017 budget request that enforces existing federal law and does not create new law,” the letter said.
The letter constantly reiterated the fact that Congress will allocate its budget only towards existing Federal Law, and stated that this will be the “committee’s expectation.”
The committee also blatantly blasted the President’s plans.
“Recently, the media has reported that the President plans to take executive action to limit the constitutional rights of Americans to keep and bear arms,” they noted. “The House Appropriations Committee will not provide resources to your Department for (this action).”
Many details remain unclear about how Obama planned to proceed with this particular agenda, but if he plans to keep pushing for gun control measures, he must be willing to go against Congress.
