Muslim murders two and five injured, in Tel Aviv bar, BBC says motive unclear

“It was not immediately clear what motivated the shooting.” Seriously? With Muslim clerics exhorting “Palestinians” from mosque pulpits to murder Jews, the BBC can’t find a motive? The denial of the jihad threat has long ago passed the ridiculous stage.

Two people have died and and at least five have been injured after a gunman opened fire at a bar in central Tel Aviv, Israeli police say.

Police units are searching the area for the suspect, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.
The incident took place in a bar on Dizengoff Street.

It was not immediately clear what motivated the shooting, which follows a wave of Palestinian attacks against Israelis over the past few months.

Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai told reporters at the scene that “this appears to be a terrorist attack motivated by nationalism,” the Jerusalem Post reported.

An eyewitness told Israeli TV that the gunman was young and had an assault rifle.

As of 23 December, at least 21 Israelis had been killed in the recent violence, most of them in stabbings and shooting attacks by Palestinians.

At least 131 Palestinians have also been killed. More than half were said by Israel to be attackers. Others have been killed in clashes with Israeli forces.

Mr Rosenfeld told the BBC: “It’s not clear what the background of the incident is, if it’s a terrorist attack or if it’s criminal-related.”…
