Upon learning of the death of Fidel Castro, Cuba Archive reflects on the vast suffering of the Cuban people during his long dictatorship and on the opportunity this represents to forge a new Cuba. We especially remember thousands killed and disappeared by the Castro regime incluiding the victims of terrorism and subversion it has exported around the world. We hope this moment will finally set the course for a transition to democracy, so all Cubans may live in freedom and peace.

MUERTE DE FIDEL CASTRO

Al conocerse la muerte de Fidel Castro, Archivo Cuba llama a una reflexión sobre el enorme sufrimiento del pueblo cubano durante su larga dictadura y la oportunidad que se presenta de forjar una nueva Cuba. Muy especialmente recordamos a los miles de cubanos muertos y desaparecidos por el castrismo, incluyendo a las víctimas de la subversión y el terrorismo que ha exportado por el mundo. Abrigamos la esperanza de que esta coyuntura marque el inicio del tránsito hacia una democracia plena donde todos los cubanos puedan vivir en paz y libertad.
