In an unbiased and just world, the United Nations would have already intervened to stop the tragedy being perpetrated against Christians by terror groups like ISIS and help them rebuild their lives.
Sadly though, our world is far from ideal. So while we call for assistance from the UN—and have previously invited you to do the same—we cannot wait for their help!
If the UN won’t help, then we will accept the opportunity to care for Christians who have fled their homes in Iraq in order to escape further suffering and even death at the hands of ISIS.
I consider this an issue of utmost importance, and, God willing, you can help Iraqi Christians like Karlus, who miraculously survived horrific captivity and torture by ISIS killers.
“They told me if I would convert to Islam and fight with ISIS, I would be set free,” Karlus said. “One soldier ripped off my cross necklace, threw it to the ground, and ordered me to step on it.”
When Karlus refused, the terrorists beat him into unconsciousness. When he awoke, he was hanging upside down by one leg, part of his long ordeal.
Tragically, Karlus was sentenced to the firing squad. But just as he was set to die, the ISIS commander received a phone call to let Karlus go, which they did, but not before they beat him unconscious again.
We thank God for sparing Karlus’s life, and thousands of other Christians who escaped with their lives but nothing else.
That’s why I’m turning to you and asking for your help to provide these suffering people with food, shelter, and medical care during their difficult exile in Jordan.
Please minister to these persecuted Christians by making your compassionate gift now. We cannot wait for the U.N. or others to deliver assistance. We must help our brothers and sisters today!
Thank you, Eduardo. |
