Mozambique: Muslims murder at least 17 people in pursuit of the “government of Allah”

Jihadists have gone on yet another killing spree in Mozambique. At least 17 people were murdered, all of them civilians. In one neighbourhood of the town of Macomia, “eight bodies were found, one of them beheaded.” The characteristic jihadist cruelty was seen in “reports of two other people, who had left the town, dying in the surrounding bush. One was a child who spent three days in the bush with her parents, and died of hunger.”
Before the latest onslaught that started in March, Islamic jihadists in the space of three years murdered at least 700 people and displaced over 100,000 in the Christian-majority country.
In March, jihadists attacked two towns, ransacked government buildings, and declared “We only want Islamic law.” In early April, only a week later, the Islamic State raided the Mozambique town of Mocimboa da Praia in Cabo Delgado province, a strategically important town with liquid natural gas projects worth $60 billion. The jihadists occupied the town for a full day, indicating what was to come. Less than two weeks later came an open declaration by jihadists:
“We want everyone here to apply Islamic law. We don’t want a government from unbelievers, we want a government from Allah.”
A week later, the killing spree started in pursuit of the “government of Allah.” 52 innocent people were massacred in a “cruel and diabolical” rampage. Now, just over a week after that, the relentless onslaught continues with 17 more innocent people massacred, while the global community ignores all of these events.
“Mozambique: At Least 17 Killed in Macomia Attack,” All Africa, June 2, 2020:
Maputo — At least 17 people were murdered when islamist terrorists occupied the town of Macomia between Thursday and Saturday, according to a report in Tuesday’s issue of the independent newssheet “Mediafax”.
By late Sunday afternoon, Macomia communities had counted 17 dead, all of them civilians. In one neighbourhood, Nanga “A”, according to a second newssheet “Carta de Mocambique”, eight bodies were found, one of them beheaded.
There are also reports of two other people, who had left the town, dying in the surrounding bush. One was a child who spent three days in the bush with her parents, and died of hunger. The second was a teacher hospitalised in the Macomia Health Centre. When the attack began, he was taken out of the health centre and died in the bush.
One eye-witness, cited by “Mediafax”, said the raiders killed some of their victims when they were unable to answer questions about islam.
It is feared that the death toll will rise as more bodies are found in the ruins of what was once a busy trading town on the main road from the provincial capital, Pemba, to the Tanzanian border.
The islamists sacked the Macomia prison and released all its inmates – whom they then used to carry looted goods to vehicles, which drove away towards the village of Miangalewa, which is still in jihadist hands.
Vehicles were seen carrying away bodies wearing military uniform…..
