Over 200,000 Are “Sharing” This EPIC Samuel L. Jackson Quote About Gun Control
(Conservative Tribune) – Given the anti-gun hysteria sweeping the left in the wake of the series of shootings committed near a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs last week by Robert Lewis Dear, it seems like an opportune time to remind people how actor Samuel L. Jackson feels about gun control.
“I don’t think it’s about more gun control,” Samuel L. Jackson told the Los Angeles Times three years ago, just after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. “I grew up in the South with guns everywhere, and we never shot anyone. This is about people who aren’t taught the value of life.”
Opposing Views shared it on its Facebook page, where it has garnered over 160,000 likes and over 213,000 shares in about three months.
The quote makes perfect sense because Americans have had access to guns for centuries — since before this country’s inception, in fact. Yet only within the past two decades or so have mass shootings become a commonplace occurrence.
The timing of these tragedies suggests that something in America changed between when Jackson was still a child and today. Judging by what Jackson said, it appears he believes that the change revolves around “values.”
Once upon a time, family values meant a great deal in America. Husbands and wives stuck together, parents kept their children away from drugs and alcohol, and schools taught real history, real math, real science.
These days, nearly every aspect of American society has become corrupted by liberal progressivism, which prioritizes people’s selfish desires — or what Sigmund Freud referred to as our “id” — over morality and religion.
And so we now live in an age where it is normal to seek out instant gratification, regardless of the consequences of our actions for others or society as a whole.
Stopping this madness therefore requires that we confront and put an end to this sick immorality — and bring back the values that originally helped us become the greatest nation on Earth.
