US Army Captain Key Player in Preventing Bombing of Jewish School in Denmark
US Army Cpt. Bradley Grimm developed a system that uncovered and ultimately prevented a terror plot to bomb a Jewish school in Denmark, the Pentagon said on Wednesday.
Capt. Bradley Grimm “helped develop a system to speed the flow of intelligence from here on the ground to various national capitals,” said Col. Steve Warren, an army spokesman based in Baghdad.
“Brad’s work likely saved the lives of Danish citizens,” Warren said, explaining that Grimm obtained “actionable intelligence” from “captured documents” that came from foreign fighters tied to Denmark.
As a result of Grimm’s work, a suspect in the school plot was arrested and homemade explosives were confiscated.
Grimm, who was based at al-Asad airbase in the western Iraqi province of Anbar, “did all of this voluntarily in addition to his duties,” Warren said.
Grimm was awarded the Danish Defense Medal for Special Meritorious Effort.
In March, Danish security forces were successful in thwarting a plot by a would-be Muslim terrorists to bomb Jewish schools.
Danish are charging a 16-year-old girl who was arrested in January with planning bomb attacks against a Jewish school in Copenhagen and another school elsewhere in Denmark.
Prosecutors presented the preliminary charges against her and a 24-year-old man suspected of being her accomplice in a court hearing Tuesday in Holbaek, northwest of the Danish capital.
It is unclear if the two incidents are related.
