Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Thursday that he thinks President Obama “hates Israel,” invoking the nuclear deal with Iran.
“So many friends in Israel, they don’t know what happened,” Trump said during a campaign speech in Nevada.
“They have a president who — they actually think Obama hates Israel. I think he does,” Trump added.
The real estate tycoon reportedly invoked the international accord the Obama administration reached over the summer with five allied nations and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear program.
Trump suggested that Iran’s top negotiator during internationals talks was too tough for Secretary of State John Kerry and pledged to keep Israel safe if he were put in the White House.
The remarks came a day after Trump and nine other top Republican candidates appeared on stage together for the third GOP presidential debate, in Colorado.
