Rasmussen Poll: 81% of Republicans Say Trump Gets Nomination
(Newsmax) – Rasmussen says 81 percent of the likely Republican voters surveyed for the its weekly ”Trump Change” poll now say New York real estate magnate Donald Trump has a lock on the party’s presidential nomination.
That result is up 10 points from a week ago, before Trump’s victories in the South Carolina primary and the Nevada caucus.
Here’s what the poll, conducted Feb. 23-24 and released Friday, shows how likely GOP voters responded:
How likely is it that Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee for president in 2016?
- Very likely: 45 percent
- Somewhat likely: 36 percent
- Not very likely: 9 percent
- Not at all likely: 6 percent
- Not sure: 4 percent
Even non-Republicans overwhelmingly expect Trump to clinch the nomination:
- Very likely: 37 percent
- Somewhat likely: 33 percent
- Not very likely: 15 percent
- Not at all likely: 8 percent
- Not sure: 6 percent
