Rush Limbaugh Reveals REAL Reason He Thinks Trump Lost Iowa
(Conservative Tribune) – Billionaire businessman Donald Trump’s shocking loss in Iowa has put a slight dent in his campaign as he tries to figure out what went wrong. Despite Trump’s own comments stating that he would dominate Iowa, Trump insisted after his loss that the media was to blame for the high expectations.
Many political pundits have speculated that Donald Trump’s lack of an extensive ground game in Iowa led tohis demise, while others have stated that Iowans were offended that Trump skipped the last debate.
The Daily Caller reported that conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh had a different take on why Trump came in second place in Iowa.
Rush said that Trump’s string of attacks on Sen. Ted Cruz alienated many of his potential supporters because they viewed him as acting like a liberal.
“I don’t think Trump skipping the debate had a thing to do with what happened last night,” stated Limbaugh on his show. “This is a Republican primary. It’s Iowa. Conservatives win in Iowa.”
“Donald Trump, I don’t know if you forgot — one thing that everyone remembers — he went out and tried to criticize Ted Cruz,” he stated
Limbaugh believes that Trump turning on his fellow Republicans, and especially a conservative like Cruz, caused many potential supporters to view him in a negative light.
“Ted Cruz isn’t the enemy,” he stated. “Hillary Clinton is the enemy. Ted Cruz is not a nasty guy. Ted Cruz is not a Canadian.”
Many polls have shown that the majority of Republican voters are not concerned with, and don’t believe, Trump’s accusations about Cruz not being a natural born citizen.
“Nobody is going to believe that, especially when you offer that criticism sounding as though it could come with Bernie Sanders. In a Republican primary, you do not win if you’re going to sound like a liberal democrat criticizing Ted Cruz,” Limbaugh concluded.
