A female Arab terrorist, estimated to be in her 20s, stabbed a female IDF Border Police officer Monday morning shortly after 11 o’clock. The attack took place at the Rachel’s Crossing checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Bethlehem, located near Rachel’s Tomb, the burial site of the Hebrew matriarch.
Magen David Adom (MDA) – Israel’s Red Cross – treated the victim on the scene before rushing her to Hadassah Ein Karem medical center in Jerusalem. She was fully conscious, the paramedics said.
After a brief chase, the terrorist was caught, Israel Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said, adding that she had two knives in her possession.
The attacker is a resident of a PA-administered town in Judea and Samaria, where terror attacks have been increasing significantly in recent weeks.
On Sunday, a Palestinian woman was caught by Israeli security forces on Sunday as she tried to infiltrate Israel with a rifle on her back.
Last weekend, a Palestinian terrorist shot and killed 25-year-old Danny Gonen and wounded his friend in the town of Dolev, located in the Benjamin region of Samaria, where they were hiking.
