Two boys younger than 18 have been crucified by the Islamic State after they were caught eating during Ramadan, reports the Christian Post.
Though the fasting rule during the Muslim holy month — no food or water from sunrise to sunset — is not supposed to apply to children, these children were used as an example and put on display "with placards hung around their necks revealing their 'crime.'"
This report came by way of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child has also exposed horrific acts performed on children at the hands of ISIS: beheadings, crucifixions, the mentally challenged used as suicide bombers, child soldiers, and sex slavery.
ISIS appears to be targeting children in building their Caliphate because they are easier to indoctrinate. A leader of an anti-terrorism group said, "Their goal is to rebuild the Islamic societies they have conquered into a global comprehensive Islamist system that takes over all aspects of society from garbage collection to teaching at the Madrassas [religious schools]."
The atrocities against the Yazidi people and the Shiite and Sunni Muslims is only intensifying, especially against children. Now, ISIS is offering young girls as sex slaves for fighters who memorize the Koran in observance of Ramadan. Evangelist Franklin Graham reacted to this recently on Facebook calling out the inaction of President Obama:
